How to Cook Hoffy Franks
Stove Top
- Add water to a skillet or frying pan. Cover the surface with half an inch of water.
- Turn the heat on medium-high. Heat the pan until the water starts to boil off.
- Remove Hoffy Franks from package and gently add them to the pan. Be sure to not overcrowd, you need room to roll the franks.
- Roll the franks. Roll the Hoffy Franks frequently to get them browned on all sides.
- Remove with tongs or fork, add your favorite toppings and serve.
Hoffy Hints: For that ballpark taste, swap out half the water for beer!
Grill
- Turn on your grill. Heat one side of the grill to medium heat and the other side medium-high to high heat. If you have a charcoal grill, stack more coals on one side. If you have a gas grill, adjust the knob settings accordingly.
- Remove Hoffy Franks from package.
- Using barbeque tongs, cook the Hoffy Franks on the cooler side of grill about one minute each side so they heat through without burning.
- Move hot dogs to the hot side of the grill. And give them a final quick char, and those great looking grill lines.
- Serve. Using tongs, take your hot dogs off the grill, dress them up your way and dig in!
Oven
- Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Remove Hoffy Franks from package and place in a rimmed pan or tray. Line the pan with foil for extra easy cleanup.
- Cook for 15 minutes. Keep an eye on your franks. You’ll know they’re done when you see them begin to brown and curl just a bit.
- Serve. Use a potholder to remove the pan from the oven, add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Microwave
- Prep your frank. Remove from package. Wrap in a paper towel and place directly in the microwave or put the hot dog on a plate and cover it with a paper towel. Cooking more than one? Lay them side by side on a plate and cover them all with a paper towel. Just make sure to leave a little space in between so they cook evenly.
Hoffy Hints: Don’t poke holes in your frank! Piercing lets the delicious juices escape and your dog dries out. - Cook on high. Start at 20 or 30 seconds for one frank. Add 10 to 15 seconds for each additional frank.
- Check in. When time is up, check to see if they’re warmed up all the way through. If not, microwave them another 10 seconds and test one again.
- Carefully remove your frank using tongs. Trapped steam can burn.
- Serve. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Cook them in a air fryer for more delicious flavor.
I saw a Hoffy Dog ad at a bus stop near Dana Point, CA, and would like to get permission to use a photo of it. We have a Hoffy Feed once a month, and I would use the picture to advertise our function.
We use the 1/4 all beef dogs, and get in trouble if the wrong ones are purchased.

Hoffy 1/4lb dogs can be bought on sale at Smart and Final, a few times per year, for about $2.50 /lb… I buy 3 to 4 TenPacks at a time, wash them off and freeze them individually, then stack them in a Gallon Freezer Zip Lock… This provides me a continuous supply, for whenever the mood strikes me…
